As Vice President and Managing Director of Connected Life in Europe, Mitch Lazar’s focus is to grow Yahoo!’s mobile business across the region. He is responsible for business development, product, marketing and operations of the Connected Life business in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
Yahoo!’s Connected Life business unit comprises the company’s mobile and digital home businesses, including strategic alliances with some of the world’s largest telecommunications companies and global device manufacturers.
Lazar joined Yahoo! in November 2005. Prior to taking over the helm as MD & GM of Connected Life Europe, Mr. Lazar was VP of Commercial Services, driving business development, monetization and partner operations.
Before joining Yahoo!, Lazar was Vice President, Wireless and Emerging Technology at Time Warner, where he worked for Turner Broadcasting System and America Online driving their global strategy and mobile distribution efforts.
Lazar was an early pioneer in digital media, and one of the founders of CNN.com in 1995. In 1997, he pioneered and launched CNN mobile, the world’s first wireless global news and information service. He later rolled out Cartoon Network mobile services around the globe.
Lazar has been based in London, England for the past 10 years. A native of Miami, Florida, Lazar is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism at Columbia. Before relocating to London, he studied at Georgia State University working on his master’s degree in business administration.
